The WHO European Region is the only Region worldwide where the number of new HIV infections is rising. One reason for this worrying trend: over half (51%) of the reported HIV diagnoses happen in a late stage of infection.
The new Guidelines adapt the Good Manufacturing Practices requirements to the specific characteristics of advanced therapy medicinal products and address novel scenarios such as decentralised manufacturing and automated production.

On 1 December 2017, the Commission and the European Medicines Agency published an update of Questions and Answers related to the UK's withdrawal from the EU with regard to the medicinal products within the framework of the Centralised Procedure.
