Tumori: Gb, autorità rifiutano terapie Car T, troppo costose

La nuova terapia 'Car T' per i tumori è appena stata approvata in Europa e c'è già chi la rifiuta. In Gran bretagna il Nice, l'organismo che valuta i nuovi farmaci, ha annunciato una bozza di risoluzione in cui ne rigetta l'adozione, con la motivazione che il prezzo è troppo alto.   


La decisione riguarda uno dei due farmaci appena approvati, l'axicabtagene ciloleucel, che avrebbe un costo stimato nel paese di 800mila sterline per paziente, circa 880mila euro. Il Nice ha riconosciuto l'efficacia della terapia, destinata a un tipo di linfoma e che va usata solo quando falliscono le cure tradizionali, e il fatto che è destinato a pazienti che non avrebbero alternative, ma secondo l'organismo «non ci sono sufficienti evidenze dei benefici confrontati con altri tipi di trattamento, e il costo iniziale prospettato è comunque troppo alto».
